This policy explains what happens to personal data collected through this website. It is written to describe what the site actually does, not to cover every eventuality in the abstract.

What we collect, and when

Browsing the catalogue collects no personal data. There is no advertising network on this site, no tracking pixel and no analytics profiling of visitors.

We collect personal data at one point: when you submit a quote request. That form asks for your company name, your VAT number (optional), your name, your e-mail address, your telephone number, your country, and any message you choose to write. It also records which products, sizes, colours and quantities you asked about, and which language version of the site you used.

Why we hold it, and on what legal basis

• To prepare and send your quotation, and to answer your enquiry. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• To keep a record of what was quoted. If you later place an order, or query a price, we need the exact specification we quoted. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate commercial records (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• To meet our own legal obligations where a transaction results — for example retaining invoicing records for the period tax law requires (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).

We do not use your details to send marketing you did not ask for, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.

How long we keep it

Quote requests that do not lead to an order are deleted 24 months after our last contact with you about them. Where an order results, the associated records are kept for as long as tax and commercial law requires us to retain them.

Who else sees it

Your data is stored in our content management system and reaches us by e-mail. It is handled by the providers who host that system and deliver that mail, acting as processors on our instructions and bound by contract to protect it. It is not shared with anyone else, and it is not transferred outside the European Economic Area unless a lawful transfer mechanism is in place.

Cookies

This website sets one cookie, and only for a functional purpose: it remembers which language version of the site you are reading, so you are not sent back to English on every visit. It carries no identifier that could be used to profile you, and there are no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies on this site.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we process it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, e-mail info@terrasafety.nl — there is no form to fill in and no charge.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, we would like the chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to your data protection supervisory authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl); if you are elsewhere in the EU, it is the authority in the country where you live or work.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to submitted quote requests is limited to the staff who need it to do their job.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page. Material changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
